ABOUT LISBON

Luminous, vintage, multifaceted, authentic, Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and polo of a multifaceted region that appeals to different tastes and senses. A city that has been receiving many different cultures coming from far distant stops over time, still today feels a village breathe in every historic neighborhood. It is one of the oldest cities in the world and is also the oldest city in Western Europe. A capital of different contrasts where architecture, the mixture of cultures and customs make this city a special travel destination with unique features.

In the 15th and 16th centuries, the port of Lisbon was one of the most important in the world, bringing great wealth to the city due to trade with Asia, Africa and Brazil. Destroyed almost entirely by the earthquake of 1755, the city was rebuilt entirely under the coordination of the Marquis of Pombal, which undertook a remarkable work of urban redevelopment and which is still today admired throughout the world.

Feel and travel Lisbon to the sound of the old electric and yellow that cross the streets of the city. Walk through the streets of the Pombaline Baixa that extend to the Commerce Square and admire the authentic treasures of historic buildings, the high places overlooking the blue of the sea. Taste the traditional pastels of Bethlehem and drink a wine to the sound of fado which another Portuguese expression is also elevated to World Heritage. An experience not to be missed.

Following the river you can see some of the most beautiful places of the city such as the monumental area of Belém with World Heritage monuments, medieval neighborhoods, such as more recent leisure areas like the Docas or the Nations Park, but also the palaces scattered throughout cultural landscape of Sintra, this magnificent village where you can find testimonies of practically every epoch of Portuguese history. To the north or south of Lisbon, the wide variety of landscapes and heritage is always within walking distance. With beaches, natural parks, cultural routes and accommodation for all tastes.
